Cordura Dog Beds
All cordura dog beds are not created equal. I found this out when looking for something comfy for my pet, Bobo to sleep on. I made it a point to look at several different options and then I chose the right one for us. Along the way, I did find out that there are definitely some things you would want to look for if this is the way you want to go for canine comfort.

The first thing that I noticed is that there are companies out there that make several different things for pets, and then there are companies that specialize in cordura dog beds. I think it's better to go with someone that only makes one thing. It just seems like they would naturally be able to give it more care and make a better product that way. I mean, if all I did was one thing all day long, I think I would get to be really good at it sooner or later. I'll have to try that sometime. In my own job, I'm kind of all over the place.
Another thing that I noticed as a telltale sign of quality cordura dog beds is the thread used to sew the item. The ones to look for are the cordura dog beds that are sewn with Bonded #69 Nylon Tex 70 thread. This is apparently the same kind that is used in many of the things that we all buy every day. Things like suitcases, purses, shoes, and many other items. So, my theory is that if it's the industry standard then it's best to go with it for the bed that your best buddy sleeps on.
Something else that I learned to look at is the actual stitching. A tight zig-zag stitch on cordura dog beds is better than a straight stitch. It adds to the product's strength and stability. The absence of zippers or velcro in the design also makes for sturdier cordura dog beds. And that's something that you have to really consider because most dogs love to run around and jump on things, and if what you end up with isn't put together well, then it could fall apart after a while of this. I know that the last thing I would want is for my Bobo to jump onto his favorite sleeping area and fall right through. Not that it would hurt much. The thing's only a few inches off the ground, so that's not really a big danger to him. But it's just a nasty surprise. How would you like to jump in for a good night's sleep and fall onto the floor?
Thread quality and stitching are really the key things that I've noticed that some manufacturers will try to cut corners on. Probably because these things aren't even noticed by most consumers. I mean, if the fabric is low quality then you can readily see that, but how many of us check the sewing on anything? I guess the best bet is to find someone that specializes, like I said, and also to make sure they stand behind their product with a decent warranty.
These really are an excellent choice for your dog to sleep on. They are up off the ground and the fabric stretches a bit, so it's just like a little hammock. And who doesn't love those.
